A medical laser is used to reduce pain and inflammation, as well as to promote healing, and works by applying laser light outside the skin, thus non-invasive.
Irradias medical lasers are professional instruments, designed to deliver optimal results during treatment. The laser light is applied in contact with normal fresh skin. Sensitive, or damaged skin and open wounds are treated in non-contact at a distance of one or a few centimeters.
To get a good treatment effect, the laser light needs to penetrate the tissue and reach the area that is supposed to be treated. Infrared wavelengths such as 904 nm (superpulsed) and 808 nm have best penetration and are therefore used for deep-rooted problems, such as joints and muscles.
